Friends of Warnham Local Nature Reserve

Review: Countryside Warden's Report 2006

Compiled and edited by Sam Bayley

This comprehensive report, available from the Visitor's Centre for £5.00 is the third Warden's Report published by Horsham District Council reviewing the wildlife and management programmes at the five countryside sites run by the Countryside Services Unit. It is a wire bound publication, extensively illustrated in colour and contains reviews of the species recorded at the various sites as well as species lists.

This is obviously something of a labour of love on behalf of Sam Bayley and his extensive list of contributors and makes for a most informative and interesting read. Naturally, Warnham Local Nature Reserve features prominently with an impressive array of plants, birds, insects and fungi.

I recommend this booklet very highly to all those interested in Horsham District and its natural history.
